Very touching and well presented. I had to watch it again to see the parts I missed because of tears. Our grandson was diagnosed right after his 3rd birthday, and those first days were heartbreaking. Our Type 1? will soon be 11 and is my little hero. He plays Hockey goalie and is proof that with proper care, good parent team, and loving big brother that anything is possible. We walk for the cure as "Ryan's Dream Team". Thanks for your efforts in creating this message :0) Ryan's Mimi

God Bless you guys!! This video brings tears to my eyes for sure can barely watch! My son was diagnosed at 16 months old and is now 5. What a life changing diagnosis for all invovled. This disease is so hard to control and the young boys? and girls are so strong and deal with so much! Good luck! I am running a marathon in May and raising money for JDRF. Every bit counts! They're such troopers! My son's pump failed 2 days ago & we have to do syringes temporarily (thanks to insurance wanting to play "dr") I couldn't take the shots & finger pricks. I give props to all diabetics. we have to keep banning together to raise money to support a cure AND educate people on this. 2yrs ago, I had no idea? about diabetes. I thought people just had to watch foods with sugar. Unfortunately, many people I come in contact everyday still think this.

I feel bad for those who believe there will ever be a cure marketed for diabetes. NEVER is the release date on that "Marketed" cure. I've been a type 1 diabetic for over 40 years and every few years there's a news story about "The NEXT POSSIBLE CURE for diabetes". They always tell you that it will be about 10 years. Yeah Right! Diabetes is a cash cow for drug companies, doctors and the JDRF. PERIOD! Deal with it and? be all you can be. Forget that fantasy cure. It's not going to happen.

I was diagnosed when I? was 13.That wasw 48 years ago.At that time I had to boil my syringe and needle.The needle had to last till it was so dull that I couldn't get it in my skin.Had to drive over a couple hundred miles to buy a new one for years before they came out with disposable ones.

@09multikatie Im no doctor but Im 14 and i was dignosed with type 1 diabetes a few months ago. I had simaler symptoms, drinking 2 gallons a day, and I was always sleepy. I lost alot of weight though. I went from 5'7 @ 135 to around 110 in a few weeks. When I got to the doctors they took my bg levels with a finger prick and told me to go to the? hospital asap. I had a sugar level of 1300 (75 normal). I think you should see a doctor to get a difinate answer. Good Luck! If you have any ?s message me

hi im 13 im having these symptoms i am drinking at least 18 to 19 drinks aday i go the toliet at least 10 times or more i am always tired and weak also i feel sick im putting on weight instead? of looseing it and no matter how hard i try it dosent go i feel dizzy like faint my lips are always dry i have adominal painn it thaat signs oof diabetes type 1 or type 2 also what test do they do if you get tested thak you

@DYANNALUNA92 Billions! That's the annual amount made on treating diabetes. How can you compete with that? Those who could find and market a cure won't because it's BILLIONS of dollars they would be losing if a cure were marketed. How many times have you heard about a new break-through and hope for a cure? And where are those break-through promises now? It's all BS? and there will never be a marketed cure. That's what I said and I still believe that to be true. In 10 years maybe you'll see too.

@lilviola it wasn't possible way for my father to survive to see a? cure, he had to many medical problems stacked against him, he went blind, had 3 kidney transplants, 2 heart attacks, 1 stroke & had been in 5-7 comas. you can say & believe there's is no hope, but all my 13 sibling( 2 diabetics & a nurses), my mother(pre-diabetic), my step-father(diabetic), my brother-in-law(diabetic) will never stop fundraising, doing research & giving ppl hope until there is a cure. is cancer incurable to you?

my younger brother has been a diabetic since he was four, he is now almost 15 and he doesnt seem to care at all. He doesnt take his? insilan all the time which is the reason why he still doesnt have a pump. As of now he is starting to loose his vision and his kidneys are begining to shut down. The doctors are giving him a pump because his body is rejecting the insilin shots. He has pretty much given up and i dont know how to help him. I dont want to loose my little brother. do you have any advice

Isn't Type 1 diabetes cool? :p I am a T1, my daughter is, my dad is, his mom was. Do you prick the side? of your finger tips? I don't pump... Syringes and pens for me. Great vid... Type 1 diabetics are living longer and fuller lives these days, and are as health as our non-diabetic counterparts. BTW, and amazing book if you don't already have, is Pumping Insulin by John Walsh. I don't own, but I do have Using Insulin and Think Like A Pancreas. Great books.

Great video Jenna. I just got type? 1 a month and a half ago - thats when it was discovered anyway. Sometimes its really tough to get my mind set on the "new" me, so its comforting to see other diabetics sending out good vibrations. Once again: great video - keep it up!

The key thing we need to teach everyone kaylinskure is to stay hydrated and slightly alkalined. The Body only needs minerals, essential fatty acids, and enzymes to function properly. Well that and of course plenty of water and to eat healthy. I think your video is great and we want to help as? many people as we can. We are having 100% success rate with diabetes. So sad that the young most and innocent all too often endure this painful affliction. I was? blessed to have acquired this disease as an adult and not a child. If you have diabetes, no other time is history is better than today for a chance at a somewhat normal life. Technology will one day catch up and offer better lives for all who deal with this on a daily basis.

This is a beautiful video, it made me cry. My little sister, Jessy is five years? old. She was diagnosed last year and it changed the lives of our entire family. They will not "market a cure" even if they find one. "It's not profitable". They've found treatments and marketed them as to make our lives easier to make more money for themselves. You think speaking the truth is being rude? That's your opinion. You need to get your head? out of the sand and face reality. Keep walking, donating, slamming me and whatever else makes you feel good about your condition. You'll still never see that cure JDRF has promised since they were founded. Take care, L.V.

They haven't found a cure yet, but think back to what you just said. They've found treatments, making our lives easier. What's? so bad about treatments? I'm not giving up on a cure, and neither are millions of others. I have a pump and it's helped me tremendously. You didn't like it? Great, that's one person's opinion, it's different from person to person. You need to stop trying to discourage people, you're a very rude person. People like you ruin the joy and hope of others.

Hey, you are only 14? years old. Grow up and then tell us how much the JDRF has done to find a cure. They are looking for treatments not a cure. The JDRF has raised billions and every year you hear about another cure possibility but they never materialize. Forget the cure. It ain't going to happen no matter how far you walk or how much you donate. And if you want a pump connected to you 24-7,, go for it. But they are far from GREAT. I had one for a year and HATED it. I went back to shots.

Reskalant, I'm only 14 but I've had it since I was 6, I know what you're going through right now and I know how hard it can be. Trust me. But you have to be strong and put your best foot forward. It IS really tough but if you work really hard, you can manage it. You'll be a pro at dealing with soon. You're also really lucky since you had the chance to live a "normal" childhood so you know what it's like. But that is also bad since you know what you're missing in life. You have a right to your opinion but some of us make these videos on our own to show our support, tell people our story and ask for help. This is something you can NEVER get away from - we just want a cure. JDRF is a GREAT thing - it has helped so many people, you don't even know. Mechanical pancreases and pumps are a GREAT thing that have saved peoples lives? - not all of us want to stab ourselves more than we have to so these help us do that, it also helps give us a little more freedom.

Type 1 Diabetes is? an AUTOIMMUNE disease NOT caused lifestyle or the environment. My daughters immune sytem attacked her pancreas and it is no longer capable of making insulin. Type 1 and Type 2 are different diseases and the the stereotype associated with the cause "lifestyle and environment" does NOT belong to her.

My? daddy had type 2 diabetes since he was 42 yrs old. He was diagnosed in November of 1993. I was born in June of 1993 but I was only 5 months old when my daddy was diagnosed. My daddy is the owner of Wohlners Grocery Store. But in May of 1994 at 11 months old I was diagnosed with Hemipelgia Cerebral Palsy. My mom had asthma for 2 yrs since she was 52 yrsold. I was only 14 yrs old. In August of 2007 my mom was diagnosed with asthma. Find a cure fir Cerebral Palsy, Type 1 or 2 diabetes or asthma

i had type 1 diabetes since i was 2. i obviously dont remember the shots and stuff when i was little but when i was about kaylins age thats when it started to hit me and to understand what i had to do on a day to day task in order to stay alive. stay strong!! :D?

What a precious,brave little girl!! My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just two months after her third b-day. I pray that all of us with diabetic children will recieve that phone call " come in we have your cure"!! Wow..it just shows what an amazing family you have ..so close to eachother & in each picture you can feel how every day you have with just Paige or all together the love is OVERWHELMING ! Let's hope it will be just a story she tells her children... that she had "juvenile diabetes" when she was little but they don't have to worry about that..because they found a cure as she was growing up & for the love of her family..her AMAZING parents & all of the people who wanted? to make a difference..they did for her life!

What a beautiful child. Did you happen to see 60 mins last night? They? said they had cured Type 2 Diabetics by doing a gastric bypass...ie, bypassing the small intestine. Have no idea if it relates to Type I or Juevenile Diabetes, but it was quite an impressive result the particular MD had. God Bless your child and family.
